Dzień dobry from Szczecin! It’s been a while, but we’ve been here for almost six months now and many things happened since the beginning of the year!
On the Common Day in January, we reflected our experiences of the past five months and especially focused on learnings and personal development. It was great to realise once more what we achieved so far here and how we grew as people. Continuing, we collected ideas for the upcoming months – what do we want to do? Many of us want to go camping, reconnect with nature around Szczecin, paint a wall together or go to cultural events like theatres, ballets or shows. It’s now the office team’s turn to put these visions into reality.
In the first two weeks of February, it was time for a break for the students in schools. The “Culture Shake” – a holiday program for kids and teenagers started in the office. Together as the office team, we created workshops about our countries and our own interests and presented them to the kids. We had two amazing weeks, full of language animation, arts and painting, teambuilding, playing breaks outside, karaoke and dancing and many good laughs.
Meanwhile, the first groups are starting into their Mid-Term-Trainings in Toruń. During five days of training, we get the chance to get to know international volunteers who are all participating in ESC in Poland, discover the beautiful city of Toruń and reflect on the past and the future in our project.

For the common day in February, we did a city rally throughout the city, learning about the history of women in Poland and rediscovering the city through new perspectives. After that, we visited Muzeum Techniki i Komunikacji and got to learn about typewriters, trams and other means of transport. Thanks to Kasia and Anna for organizing that once more!
